Energy Assistance Program

Many clients come to St. Vincent de Paul seeking help with their gas and electric bills and are often facing shutoff notices. Heating bills can mount quickly during a frigid Michigan winter and clients are often forced to choose between buying groceries, paying their rent and paying for heat. The Society is committed to helping people avoid those difficult choices

I hope this helps you.
Good luck

in response to DebbieinMissouri...   I agree you have to take care of the basics. I know there are programs out there that may help her but don't know for sure.
Take care

I am sorry in advance to the daily users that help so many people here for saying what I am about to say, but I myself have been in the same situation as other people here and giving your daughter electricity, gas and water is way more important that toys at Christmas. Me and my children have together agreed to put aside all of these things to maintain our home and stay warm during the winter, those gifts do no good to her if she does not have a home to enjoy them in. Again, I am sorry to say this but stop worrying about gifts and toys and take care of immediate needs for your children they will understand and you will be a stronger family for it.
Many blessings to you Debbie
